Silicone Rubber Keypad Manufacturer for OEM Controls
JASPER manufactures custom silicone rubber keypads for equipment that needs raised keys, defined tactile feedback and a durable control surface. Bring the keypad, circuit and enclosure requirements together before tooling—then approve the molded sample, finish and assembly against the same drawing revision.
From a molded key mat to a complete keypad assembly
Molded silicone keypads
Custom key shapes, web geometry, locating features and perimeter profiles, with the contact method selected for the mating circuit.
Marked and illuminated keys
Printed legends, coatings and laser-etched icons matched to the viewing conditions, handling and cleaning requirements.
Integrated keypad modules
Keypad, PCB or FPC, LEDs, connector and supporting parts can be reviewed as one assembly with an agreed inspection scope.
A manufacturing route built around your approved design
Process selection depends on the silicone compound, contact system, finish and assembly. The review and approval points below keep those decisions connected.
Design and tooling review
Check key travel and force targets, web geometry, enclosure clearance, contact alignment, draft and parting lines before releasing tooling.
Molded sample
Confirm the compound and molding route. Review the sample for dimensions, flash, key return and fit to the intended housing and circuit.
Contact construction
Match conductive pills, conductive printing or actuator features to the circuit pads. Define the electrical checks for the chosen construction.
Legends and finish
Approve colors, printing or coating, legend location and laser openings. For illuminated designs, evaluate the keypad with the intended LED layout.
Assembly and verification
Check circuit support, locating features, connector orientation and the enclosure interface. Confirm key operation and lighting where included.
Sample approval and repeat production
Record the approved drawing, sample and inspection criteria. Review changes to the compound, tool, coating or contact system before introducing them.
Define acceptance criteria before production
| Review area | What to agree |
|---|---|
| Dimensions and fit | Critical dimensions, locating features, contact position and the mating enclosure or circuit revision. |
| Tactile response | Force, travel, return and feel, assessed with the intended support and assembly conditions. |
| Electrical contact | Contact resistance and switching checks appropriate to the selected contact construction. |
| Appearance and legends | Color reference, legend position, finish and acceptable cosmetic limits. |
| Backlighting | LED arrangement, icon visibility, brightness uniformity and light leakage under agreed conditions. |
| Environment and durability | Relevant cleaning, wear, temperature and sealing tests. Any IP rating applies to the validated assembly, not a loose keypad alone. |
Choose the construction for your application
- Conductive rubber keypads
Contact materials and circuit-pad interfaces.
- Backlit silicone keypads
Light paths, LED integration and readable controls.
- Laser-etched silicone keypads
Coated keys with illuminated legends.
- Silicone keypad assemblies
Keypad, circuit, connector and assembly scope.
Send the details that shape the quotation
A drawing is ideal; a sketch and reference photo can start the review. Identify what is already fixed and where you need engineering input.
- 2D or 3D drawing, key layout and enclosure interface
- Target key feel, force and travel
- Circuit layout, contact method and connector
- Legend artwork, colors, finish and backlighting needs
- Operating environment and required validation
- Sample quantity, production volume and project schedule
Tooling, sample timing and production lead time are confirmed for the specific design and approval requirements.
Silicone keypad manufacturing questions
Can you manufacture to our existing drawing?
Yes. Share the drawing revision, mating circuit, enclosure and any approved sample. We review the manufacturing and acceptance requirements before confirming the quotation and tooling scope.
Can you supply only the rubber keypad?
Yes. The scope can be a molded keypad or a keypad assembly with agreed circuit, lighting, connector and supporting parts. The quotation defines what is included.
How is the key feel approved?
Agree the force and travel targets and review the molded sample in a representative assembly. Silicone hardness alone does not determine the tactile response.
Can the keypad be backlit and laser etched?
Yes. The silicone, coating, legend openings and LED layout must be reviewed together. Sample approval should include day and night appearance and light leakage.
What do you need for repeat orders?
Use the approved drawing revision, sample reference and inspection criteria. Notify us of changes to the housing, circuit or operating conditions so their effect on the keypad can be reviewed.
