SILVER / SILVER CHLORIDE PRINTING
Custom Screen-Printed Ag/AgCl Electrodes
JASPER manufactures screen-printed Ag/AgCl electrodes to customer-defined ink, substrate, contact geometry, cure and acceptance requirements.
Ag/AgCl is not a universal performance guarantee. JASPER prints and converts the approved construction; the customer validates electrochemical behavior, patient or sample contact, stability, intended use and regulatory evidence.
- Customer-defined printed patterns
- Controlled contact windows
- Documented ink and cure inputs

INK SYSTEM BOUNDARY
Specify the complete Ag/AgCl print system, not only the chemistry name
Printed silver/silver chloride performance depends on the exact ink, substrate, print geometry, dry or cure process, exposed area, interface chemistry and test method. Supplier review should connect each of those variables to a controlled document.
JASPER can manufacture to
- Screen printing to customer-released electrode and trace artwork
- Approved Ag/AgCl, silver, carbon and dielectric materials within quoted scope
- Flexible substrate handling, registration, drying or curing and layer sequencing
- Contact-window definition, die cutting, lamination and tail conversion
- Lot-controlled production records and project-defined in-process inspection
The device team defines and validates
- Electrode function, reference system and interface chemistry
- Ink approval, material evidence and permitted supplier substitutions
- Electrical or electrochemical test method, conditioning and acceptance limits
- Patient, fluid or sample-contact requirements and contamination controls
- Finished-sensor performance, shelf life, risk management and regulatory release
DESIGN ROUTES
Define where Ag/AgCl sits in the printed electrode architecture
The same chemistry label can serve different device functions. The artwork and BOM must distinguish active electrode regions, routed conductors, connector contacts and any additional printed or converted layers.
01 / BIOPOTENTIAL CONTACT
Exposed Ag/AgCl electrode area
02 / REFERENCE FUNCTION
Printed reference electrode pattern
03 / MULTI-MATERIAL PRINT
Ag/AgCl with silver, carbon or dielectric

PRINT-TO-TEST TRACEABILITY
Make ink, cure, geometry and acceptance criteria traceable
A defensible Ag/AgCl manufacturing definition should let the buyer connect a finished sample to approved material lots, artwork revision, print sequence and the exact inspection method used.
INK
Control the approved formulation
Define deposit geometry
CURE
Match process to substrate and ink
TEST
Use a project-specific method
CUSTOMIZATION MAP
Engineering inputs for custom printed Ag/AgCl electrodes
Chemistry, geometry and process cannot be approved independently. The quote should identify which evidence and acceptance controls apply to the exact printed stack.
- Ag/AgCl ink
- Approved manufacturer and grade, solids or mixing instructions, storage, lot traceability and substitution control.
- Base conductor
- Silver, carbon or other underlying conductor, overlap geometry, layer order and interface requirements.
- Substrate
- Film family, thickness, surface treatment, dimensional stability, cure limit and conversion behavior.
- Electrode geometry
- Active outline, area, spacing, edge clearance, channel identity and connection to routed traces.
- Dielectric windows
- Protected routing, exposed Ag/AgCl regions, overlap, registration tolerance and visual boundary.
- Contact interface
- Customer-defined gel, fluid, membrane, dry contact or other interface and its coverage or conditioning.
- Conversion
- Die line, apertures, laminate, adhesive, liner, tail, reinforcement and assembly sequence.
- Acceptance method
- Conditioning, test environment, measurement setup, limits, sampling, records and deviation process.
CONTROLLED PROJECT FLOW
Control Ag/AgCl electrodes from ink approval to released lot
- 01
Define the system
Share approved inks, substrate, layer order, artwork, exposed windows, interface and customer test requirements.
- 02
Review print DFM
Check line and area geometry, overlaps, registration, cure compatibility, handling and downstream conversion.
- 03
Build test coupons
Use the agreed revision and materials for samples the customer can evaluate with its controlled method.
- 04
Approve evidence

- 05
Maintain traceability
Repeat production against released artwork, BOM, process route, material lots and approved sampling plan.
RFQ INPUTS
What to send for an Ag/AgCl electrode quotation
Name the actual ink and test method whenever possible. A generic request for silver/silver chloride electrodes leaves the most important performance variables undefined.
Send the Current Revision- Electrode, conductor and dielectric artwork files
- Approved Ag/AgCl and companion ink specifications
- Substrate, surface treatment and cure limitations
- Layer order, print passes and overlap requirements
- Exposed-window geometry and contact-interface definition
- Tail, connector, die cut and laminate requirements
- Conditioning, test method, limits and sampling plan
- Prototype quantity, annual volume and documentation needs

BUYER QUESTIONS
Screen-printed Ag/AgCl electrode FAQ
Ag/AgCl terminology describes a material system, not a finished-device approval or guaranteed measurement result.
Can JASPER screen print custom Ag/AgCl electrode patterns?
JASPER can review customer-defined Ag/AgCl electrode artwork and print stacks when the specified ink, substrate, process limits, conversion and acceptance criteria fit our capability.
Can Ag/AgCl be printed over a silver conductor?
A multi-layer design may use Ag/AgCl with a customer-approved base conductor. Layer order, overlap, cure compatibility and exposed geometry must be defined and validated for the exact application.
Does JASPER choose the Ag/AgCl formulation?
JASPER can support a documented manufacturability review, but the customer must approve the formulation, supplier, material evidence and device-level suitability. No substitution is assumed.
Can the electrode be made on flexible PET?
Flexible film substrates may be considered when their surface, dimensional stability and cure limits fit the approved ink system and conversion process. The exact film is a project input.
What tests prove an Ag/AgCl electrode is acceptable?
There is no universal production test for every use. The customer must define conditioning, interface, fixture, measurement, limits, sampling and how the result relates to finished-device validation.
Are the samples shown certified for patient contact or diagnostic use?
No. The photographs are representative printed electrode constructions and do not identify a particular ink chemistry or approved medical use. Claims require exact product evidence.
Can JASPER maintain ink lot traceability?
Material-lot records and project-defined production documentation can be included when specified in the quotation, quality plan and purchasing requirements.
START WITH EVIDENCE
Have approved Ag/AgCl ink and electrode artwork?
Send the ink specifications, substrate, layer order, contact windows, conversion drawing, test method, documentation needs and forecast. JASPER will review printability and process control without inventing performance claims.
